We function and hydro test all our lights that are IPX-8 rated by manufacturer to confirm they are suitable for the field conditions SAR professionals may be working in. We reverse test by pressurizing the vessel and looking for air leaks rather than immersion, which could result in water damage to the light subsequent to an H2O ingress event. If the light fails the Hydrostatic pressure test we will downgrade it to IPX-4.
Lights that have been downgraded to IPX-4 should not be immersed in water and are priced as follows with a $10.00 flat rate for shipping if paid via Interac transfer (additional sale items can be added to order for an additional $4.00 in shipping per item):
